Inspired By All The Little Things featuring Cheri Bury

Hello and welcome to Inspired By All The Little Things! This is a weekly inspiration challenge blog and each week we feature a wonderful designer who inspires us as an artist!

It's Karen with you, and this week I have invited...
The very talented Cheri Bury!  We met online when we were on two design teams together, and realized that we live about an hour apart, so we've been lucky enough to meet up several times and spend some crafty time together.  I love her bright & fun creations, and her colouring is just amazing.  Check out Cheri's blog, CheriB Designs to get all the details on the two gorgeous cards that she made to share with us this week

I asked Cheri to share a bit about herself...

1. What is the name of your blog? When and why did you start it?
I called my blog CheriB Designs. I started my blog in November of 2013, because I wanted to start entering challenges and showcase my cards. It’s also a great way to see how far you have progressed.

2. What is your style of card making?
I’d say my style is bold and fun! I love using bright colors and layering my images and papers to make everything stand out.

3. Who inspires you as a designer?
When I first started card making, I was (and still am inspired) by Amy Rysavy from Prairie Paper & Ink. I loved that she is also Canadian and has great videos on her card making techniques. Since then I am also inspired by Sharon Caudle (Gramma’s House of Cards), Karen Day (Karen’s Creations) and Sandy Allnock. All great Designers with each having their own great styles!

4. What sort of things inspire you as a card maker? Photos? Sketches? Other designers?
I find my inspiration starts with whatever stamp I am using and then progress’s to the paper collection I am using. I have a 6x6 paper pad addiction LOL - and the papers and colors help with my inspiration. I also get a ton of inspiration from Pinterest!

5. Share something about yourself that we may not know?
Today is actually my 12th Anniversary. I met my Husband online and it’s been an awesome adventure with him ever since! We had a very small wedding and my Grandma was my Maid of Honour. She was thrilled and touched to be asked and that is one of the best memories I have of her from that special day!

Here is Cheri's card using this week's inspiration!

The challenge designers have also created a card for this week's inspiration! These ladies just inspire me SO much!!! I hope you will play along with us this week! We would love to have you join us!

I love how Vicky took this strong bold design and paired it down to its simplest forms and used them as the focal point with a lot of white space.

Elizabeth amazed me with her ingenuity - lovingly hand cutting each triangle and piecing them together for this bright bold background. The simple sentiment and light embellishing draw your eye to the sentiment, but don't take away from the hand pieced background she created. Elizabeth YOU are Amazing!!

Congratulations ladies and thank you to everyone who played along with us this week! We will be back in one hour with a brand new challenge!

The next challenge goes live at 5:00 am PST.

Inspired by All the Little Things Featuring Kara Vrabel

Hello and welcome to Inspired By All The Little Things! This is a weekly inspiration challenge blog and each week we feature a wonderful designer who inspires us as an artist!

This week I've asked Kara Vrabel to join us! You might know Kara from her designs at WPlus9.  We got to know each other through a group of crafty friends at the 12 Kits of Occasions.  Kara has an eye for graphic design and is not afraid to take chances.   She's an amazing stamper who makes amazing backgrounds, and her ability to work with different media astounds me!

I asked Kara a few questions so we can get to know her better!!

1. What is the name of your blog? When and why did you start it?
My blog is Kandrdesigns and I started blogging in 2008. I thought blogging would be a great way to share some of the things I was creating and to connect with people who share the same passion for paper.

2. What is your style of card making?

My style is probably clean, but not always simple. I love color and patterns with bold accents of black.

3. Who inspires you as a designer?

So many people inspire me! Check out my weekly Friday Inspiration File on Pinterest.   Friday Inspiration File - My favorite projects {Created by YOU} added weekly!

4. What sort of things inspire you as a card maker? Photos? Sketches? Other designers?
I really get inspired by prints on clothing, geometric designs, print advertisements and the stamps themselves spark ideas.

5. Share something about yourself that we may not know?

I love Brussels Sprouts! They are one of the top 'most hated vegetables', but I think they are delicious!

Here's Kara's card for this week's Challenge....

Jen's mix of layered clouds, sentiment strip and background layer is the perfect scene for that adorable red plane! I adore how she combined so many sweet details and keeps her card clean and sweet. Congratulations, Jen!

I fell in love with Katie's adorable card! I love the simple yet striking design with the cut out star and the clouds. The twine and sentiment at the top made the perfect finishing accent! And it is monochromatic blue! SO pretty!

Inspired by All the Little Things-Featuring Amy Rohl

Hello and welcome to Inspired By All The Little Things! This is a weekly inspiration challenge blog and each week we feature a wonderful designer who inspires us as an artist!

This week I have invited Amy Rohl to join us! Amy and I craft together on the SugarPea Designs Team and she is SUCH a gifted crafter! I love her clean and fresh designs so much and I was delighted when she agreed to join us this week!

I asked Amy to share a bit about herself...

1. What is the name of your blog? When and why did you start it?
The name of my blog is Ink About Me. I started it about 8 years ago as another way to share my stamping and crafty creations. It was also around the time that I started on my first design team.

2. What is your style of card making?
I'd describe my style as primarily clean and simple with a little twist of something thrown in to make you giggle. I love finding out of the box ways to use my stamps and dies as well.

3. Who inspires you as a designer?
There are so many designers whom I follow and snitch ideas from, too many to round up. I really admire those who can entertain you with their fabulous videos and those who are true to their crafty community, supporting any and all challenges. They inspire me to find time to make things for the reason we all got into this gig - to create because we love to do it!

4. What sort of things inspire you as a card maker? Photos? Sketches? Other designers?
Pinterest is my go-to for inspiration, but I also find inspiration in the plethora of online challenges, like Inspired by All the Little Things!

5. Share something about yourself that we may not know?
I'm a pretty darn good soup maker!

Here is Amy's card using this week's inspiration! Isn't is delightful!!?

Inspired by All the Little Things - Featuring Amy Kolling

Hello and welcome to Inspired By All The Little Things! This is a weekly inspiration challenge blog and each week we feature a wonderful designer who inspires us as an artist!

Happy Saturday! Lesley here! This week I have invited the lovely and talented Amy Kolling to be my guest! Amy and I have known each other for a while in this bloggy world and a couple of years ago, we met at the CHA in Anaheim. I was so excited when she agreed to Guest this week! Thank you for joining us, Amy!

I asked Amy to share a bit about herself...

What is the name of your blog?  When and why did you start it?

My blog is called Stamp-n-Paradise.  I started my blog back in May 2010.  I had no idea it's been that long!  I've definitely been stamping longer
than that.  I started, like so many, with scrapbooking my wedding until I found stamping and realized how FUN it was!

What is your style of card making?

I definitely go for CAS and sometimes with a few layers.  Totally depends on the project!!

Who inspires you as a designer?

I can't say one person inspires me but rather it's the whole stamping community.  I love Instagram and following my stamping friends.  There's a wealth of people to inspire you there!

What sort of things inspire you as a card maker?  Photos?  Sketches?  Other designers?

For me, inspiration is EVERYWHERE!  I have found inspiration from fashion, home decor, Pinterest, and of course Instagram.  If I am ever stuck on a card design, a sketch is always a starting place.  I bookmark some of my favorite card sketch challenges for inspiration.

Share something about yourself that we may not know?

This May marks my 20th year of marriage and 20th year of being a nurse.  20 years ago, I was graduating one week from nursing school and the next week, I was getting married with the following week starting my new job.  Definitely not how I would "plan" things again!

The challenge designers have also created a card for this week's inspiration! These ladies just inspire me SO much!!! I hope you will play along with us this week! We would love to have you join us!
